Louis C. Glazer, M.D.
received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Johns Hopkins and
his Medical Degree from Yale University. He completed his
surgery and internal medicine internship training at the Illinois
Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and his ophthalmology residency
training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Glazer completed his vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship
at William Beaumont and Children's Hospital in Detroit. He is
Chief of Ophthalmology at Saint Mary's Mercy Medical Center in Grand
Rapids. Dr. Glazer
is anAdjunct Investigator at the Van Andel
and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Michigan
State University. Dr. Glazer is a
fellow of the
American College of Surgeons and was also selected as one of "America's
Top Ophthalmologists" by the Consumer Research Council of
Dr. Glazer has
initiated a study in conjunction wtih Van Andel Research Institute to
analyze levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the
vitreous of patients undergoing Lucentis/Avastin injections. This
important study may provide information regarding a patient's visual
outcome and dosing regimen.
